Caledon lowers flags to honour passing of former Councillor Lily French

The Town of Caledon is lowering flags to half-mast as a tribute to former Councillor Lily (Grey) M. French who passed away on June 9, 2018.  


Lily French served 2 terms as the Area Councillor for Wards 3/4 from 1985 to 1991. 

 

She and her husband, Wilson French, were proud members of Peel’s Agricultural Community.

 

Ms. French was an active member of the community in various volunteer capacities, and she was the former Chair of the Town’s Committee of Adjustment.


“Lily French’s life is an example of extraordinary citizenship and as Mayor, I am grateful for her service and contributions to the Town of Caledon,” said Mayor Allan Thompson.

 

Flags will be lowered to half-mast at all Town of Caledon facilities.

 

Town of Caledon Council and staff extend sincere condolences to all her family and friends.
