Town of Caledon administrative offices, court services, parks and recreation facilities, libraries, animal shelter and all other non-emergency services will be closed on Monday, May 20, 2019 for Victoria Day.
So that we call enjoy the Victoria Day celebrations safely, Caledon Fire and Emergency Services reminds retailers and homeowners about the sale and use of fireworks:
Retailers can only sell fireworks beginning 10 days prior to Victoria Day (May 10) with a permit that is obtainable from Caledon Fire and Emergency Services (6211 Old Church Road). Fire Prevention staff will be conducting spot inspections to verify compliance with the by-law and compliance with any other federal and provincial regulations.
The Town strictly prohibits fireworks on public property, parkland and parks, including roadways and sidewalks. Fireworks can be set off only on Victoria Day (May 20, 2019) and only on private property. Setting off fireworks on any other day is not allowed and is subject to a fine.
