The Town of Caledon’s Economic Development Office is launching a campaign to support and promote essential businesses that are still operating. At the same time, it is releasing a survey to gauge the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on local business.

“Now more than ever we need to come together and do what we can to support our local business community,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “Our online map will help residents find and support local businesses that are still operating. We know that the pandemic is having a significant impact on our business community. The survey will give us the information we need to better understand that impact and identify areas of potential support.”

The Economic Development Office is inviting local businesses to add their information to an online dashboard located at The goal is to publish the information and make it easier for residents to find and patronize these businesses. Businesses will be able to fill out an online form and the data will be published online – along with a map showing business locations.

The COVID-19 pandemic is still unfolding but it is clear that local business is being severely affected.  The timing and the outcome of the pandemic is uncertain but in order to understand the impact and aid in decision-making, the Economic Development Office is conducting a survey of the business community. The survey will be open until April 20 and can be found at

With the vast amount of information being released by the federal, provincial and regional governments and other organizations, the Town has collected and published relevant information on the business section of its website.  For more information visit
