MEDIA RELEASE: Town of Caledon launches new Virtual Reality Cycling Video Campaign

The Town of Caledon is pleased to announce a new virtual reality (VR) cycling video showcasing what Caledon can offer cycling tourists.

This immersive experience provides 360° views of Caledon and all its beauty. Locations in the video include the Caledon Trailway, the pedestrian/cycling bridge over Highway 10, mountain biking trails, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery (one of Caledon’s eatery destinations) and Forks of the Credit Inn (one of Caledon’s unique heritage accommodations).

“Caledon is proud to be the home of an amazing cycling landscape,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “We encourage everyone to experience what may be the first virtual reality cycling video from the comfort of your home before coming to visit us”.

Viewers can enjoy the full 360° views on their phones or laptops, or VR headset.

Cycling is one of the target experiences outlined in Caledon’s 2020 Tourism Marketing Plan. This new VR cycling video was created by the Town to reach the cycling market in an exciting new way and to encourage them to make Caledon their next cycling destination.

When viewing the video on YouTube you will want to ensure the resolution is set at the highest setting and in full screen mode to enjoy the full 360° views.  You can also pause and look around any time during the video. When viewing on your phone please ensure you have Portrait Orientation Lock in the unlock position.
